Conservatory Furniture

It's time to think about furnishing it...

Once your conservatory is built, it’s time to think about furnishing it. The conservatory furniture you choose will largely depend on how you are intending to use the room. Obviously if you are using your conservatory as a dining room, you will need to think about the size of table you can fit in, and how many chairs you could use. If you are using it mainly as a playroom for the children you will want to look at toy boxes and other similar storage items to put things away in when they are not being used.

Furnishing Your Conservatory

A relaxing refuge from the hassles of everyday life...

We decided to shop around for furniture for our new conservatory making sure we included furnishings that created a relaxing atmosphere...Mrs Bradley...Cotswolds

Obviously you will want to include some kind of seating in your conservatory. If you are having a dining table then the chairs will be included with that, but if you are using the space as a relaxing refuge from the hassles of everyday life, you will probably want something a little more comfortable. A reclining chair is perfect for this, but you need to make sure you have the room for it to sit away from the wall. Standard armchairs are often too bulky for using in a conservatory, so think about using wicker furniture instead, as it is a lighter and brighter alternative.

Conservatory Blinds

Blinds can create a little more privacy...

It’s wonderful to have the sun streaming in during the day, but in the evenings you may want a little more privacy when you are using your conservatory. To this end you need to make sure you install conservatory blinds to cover the windows. Curtains are too heavy and cumbersome to look good in a conservatory, and blinds remain the best option for a room which typically has so many windows to cover.

  • Seating.
  • Blinds.
  • Plants.

The furnishings should also include plants and greenery, if you want your conservatory to form a link between the indoors and the outdoors. Pot plants are ideal, and taller plants which enjoy direct sunlight can look stunning.
